What Now ? ..

Currently ETF is well dead basically , now and again we have gathers , some random pre arranged games as last night when AGO played JM over 3 maps some old faces showed up which shows there is still some life and people remember and play the game.

The last cup which was enjoyable (cheers nero) had one major issue which was time .. it was arranged to be played over one night and in the end was over 2 sundays not one after the other and in the end with all the messing about with people not showing and waiting it died , the final wasn't played for some reason which i don't want to get all involved in, but in all we had people waiting for gathers who were not in cup teams some teams knocked out in the first round and were waiting , and it was a mess.

I propose the following , sticking with the 4 man team component 2 x 15 off def as is the norm these days but a ladder where your free to play when and where your players can fit it into the lifestyle of there real lives , most of us are getting on in years and have familys , jobs where they do come first , many of us do still want to play and if we can sort a 4 man team with no stressed timescale to play and the ladder is ongoing then it would prob be a better solution in the end keeping ETF alive and ticking , UNI didn't play last time due to TF2 commitments but you do see moose and others playing the odd gather same with .pt Haunter always idles he could play with rave , dani and another to make another team (as a suggestion), but you see my point.

We could get a few 4 man teams in who can play when and where they liked as long as the other teams agree of course , granted just a idea but this would help with what few of us still play and like to play and also would maybe drum up some older players who could spare 30 mins here and there to play , sorry if im rambling but i do that.

Wow you made me register Crosseh and thats something others didnt manage to do in years.

The last cup was not fun, it was crappy teams. And before someone calls me a whiner, I'll say I don't care what teams are made. I can always opt not to play if I don't like the teams. But I ended up playing because I was around and my team would have been without enough players. So, no more of those cups.

The recent AGO vs JM games were very fun because both teams tried to get all their old players to play and didn't care about the result. Both had players who hadn't played in years, JM won the first game, AGO the second. But that doesn't really matter because everyone had fun. The sole credit for those games goes to DrNero by the way.

I for one am gone from the scene, Ill come back for worthwile games, even reinstalled for AGO vs JM. I'm not gonna play some crappy cup where old time players play vs people who still play, though.

I know it was crappy teams i said that in previous posts before it started , and im not suggesting a cup at all , all im suggesting is keeping alive a game we like to play with a ongoing ladder where teams can play when and where they like , the winner will prob be vex if they play , its just a way to..

A) Keep alive ETF
B) Play with your friends
C) Have fun clan play again, much like the JM/AGO games.

I don't give a shit about teams, win or lose just want to play thats all.
In the game on sunday i saw players like AGO Tomcat and Demi, Sierra who haven't played for ages , but it was fun to play with them , i don't care if they haven't played for ages its just fun to play with peopel like that again.

At the end of the day i want to play whether its a ladder match or a gather or a clan game

Hello everyone,

well obviously the last cup was not the success I hoped. Actually I hoped more that the cup will lead to more traffic but it seemed the other way around.

Well anyway, I think the idea of Crosseh is a good idea. The problem is, that I see is, e.g. I can't get players to play like every week, more like every 2/3 months and therefore a ladder is hard to keep up I guess. Anyway I would love to field a team and will certainly try to get the old JMs, who btw really enjoyed it on Sunday and want to play more gain =), to play with me in this ladder.

And I totally agree with Crosseh, I just want to play an organized game, it is way better than random gathers with f...ed teams.
